A group called the Rails to Trails Conservancy has proposed a major change to East 33rd Street between Lake Montebello to Charles Street.

There are two alternatives being proposed where only one will be ultimately chosen.

Alternative One: A mixed-use pedestrian and bicycle trail that will be implemented in the 40 foot median along the entire stretch of 33rd Street, this alternative will keep the existing trees in the median of East 33rd Street.
