Waverly Village is a historic and culturally diverse neighborhood with an active community life, innovative schools, affordably priced housing, and a strong sense of community. Conveniently located near I-83, York Road and major bus connections, Waverly provides easy access to downtown Baltimore, Towson, and the beltway.
Waverly Main Street Historic District, an area listed in the National Register of Historic Places, includes all of the Waverly neighborhood, and the portion of Better Waverly neighborhood located between Greenmount Avenue and Ellerslie Avenue. The Waverly neighborhood is also referred to as “Waverly-north” to distinguish it from the area of the historic district overlapping Better Waverly.
Waverly is a diverse community! There are people of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, faiths and sexual orientations, as well as a wide cross-section of the socioeconomic scale. In addition to the variety of people in the community, there is also a mix of home owners and renters inhabiting both free-standing Victorian homes and row houses.
Please check the area amenities page for links to community resources and facilities, including schools, churches and the local library.
The Waverly Improvement Association is the community organization for Waverly-north.
